Using Ordeo

Get started with a private ORDEO balance

Connect a wallet, sign once to open your notes, and take a first step: buy, shield or receive ORDEO.

What you need

  • A wallet that works on Robinhood Chain (chain id 4663) and signs messages deterministically. See Wallets.
  • A small amount of ETH on Robinhood Chain, if you plan to buy, shield or register from your wallet.
  • Nothing else. There is no account, no email and no extra seed phrase.

Steps

  1. 01

    Open the app and connect

Go to /app and connect. If your wallet does not have Robinhood Chain yet, it is added on connect.

  2. 02

    Sign to open your notes

A sign-in message for ordeo.tech pops up in your wallet. Once you sign, the page derives your note keys from it. On first use the app requests the signature twice to check that both match. See why.

  3. 03

    Choose an optional passphrase

You can add a passphrase on top of the signature. A leaked signature alone is then not enough to open your notes. If you forget the passphrase, those notes cannot be recovered.

  4. 04

    Make a first move

Buy ORDEO straight into a note, shield ORDEO you already hold, or share your private address to receive.

What happens behind the screen

Signing sends nothing on chain. The keys are made in your browser’s memory, never stored and never sent. When you reload the page they are gone; signing again brings the same keys back, on this device or any other.

Practice mode

Before launch you start with 1 pETH and 50,000 pORDEO, practice balances with no value. Practice swaps use a fixed rate of 40,000 ORDEO per ETH; that rate is a stand-in, not a price.

Until the contracts are deployed, the app runs in practice mode: each action is a signed message, no transaction is sent and balances are practice balances. The same screens go live once the contracts are deployed.
